When is the traditional festival in China?

These traditional festivals are indeed arranged in chronological order.

The Spring Festival, the first day of the first lunar month in China, is the first day of the New Year in the old calendar year. On this day, northerners will eat jiaozi, while southerners will eat glutinous rice balls, set off firecrackers and put up Spring Festival couplets to celebrate the beginning of the New Year.

Lantern Festival refers to the 15th day of the first lunar month, which is15th day after the Spring Festival. The custom of this day is to eat Yuanxiao and put on lanterns.

Dragon Boat Festival refers to the fourth day of the fifth lunar month. This is a festival for Qu Yuan, a great patriotic poet. It mainly eats zongzi. In the south, there are festivals such as dragon boat races and throwing zongzi into the river.

Mid-Autumn Festival refers to the 15th day of the eighth lunar month. Because July, August and September are autumn, and August 15th is in the middle of autumn, it is called Mid-Autumn Festival. The custom of this day is to eat moon cakes and enjoy the moon.

The Double Ninth Festival, which refers to the ninth day of the ninth lunar month, is now defined as the Festival for the Elderly. There is a custom of climbing high and looking far on this day. The most famous poem describing this festival is "Thinking of my brothers in Shandong when I was on vacation in the mountains":

I am a lonely stranger in a strange land, and I miss my family more often during the holidays.
