Henan Youth Troupe is the only large-scale private professional troupe registered by the state in Henan Province. Founded in June, 2003, there are more than 70 cast members, including 6 national first-class actors with senior titles, 4 second-class actors/kloc-0, and as many as 20 actors with intermediate titles. Known as the actor's base camp of Henan Opera performance groups, all the actors in the troupe graduated from the national regular art colleges, and are the research and teaching practice bases of China Opera Academy, Peking Opera Vocational College and Henan Art Vocational College.

Cai, the current head of the team, has won many national and provincial awards. The newly-edited large-scale costume drama "The Strange Case of Bazhou" starring it won the first prize of the Third Yellow River Drama Award in Henan Province, and the costume drama "Snow Sweeping in Yang Chun" starring it won the most popular award in the column of "Xiangyin Theater" of Henan TV Station and the excellent award for the exhibition and broadcasting of big dramas in the New Year, with more than 3 million hits on the Internet.
