Recently, Thailand has set off an upsurge of learning Mandarin. Why does this country like China tourists so much?

The first time I traveled to Thailand, I was afraid of language barriers, so I specially signed up for a local tour group in Thailand. Tour guides in Thailand stipulate that their nationality must be their own, so they are worried that their Chinese is not good and they can't understand what the tour guide said. However, there is nothing to worry about at all. The Chinese of the tour guide sounds completely different from the Chinese I speak, which is really shocking.

Later, I learned that the Kuomintang 93 Army was stationed in Chiang Mai and other places, and later stayed in Chiang Mai. So there are many Chinese who can speak Chinese in Chiang Mai. In addition, most Thai schools are open to Chinese teaching, and many schools have Chinese classes since childhood. For example, several of my Thai friends have been learning Chinese since they were able to walk.

Another main reason is that tourists from China account for more than half of Thailand's tourism industry, so that after the airport attack and shipwreck, Thailand extended the visa-free policy to May Day to attract tourists from China and boost Thailand's GDP. There are many Chinese in Thailand, and tourists from China are pouring in. Many people in Thailand learn Mandarin. When they travel in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Pattaya, Koh Samui and Phuket, they often see "lyrical" Thais speaking Mandarin, and even the staff who apply for tourist visas in China communicate fluently in Mandarin.

China people are everywhere in Thailand's famous tourist cities and scenic spots. In order to let China tourists know and attract more China people to spend. The locals said, "It is hard to imagine what Siam business in Bangkok would be like without China tourists". Although many tourists from other countries also visit Thailand, no country has such a huge tourism base and strong consumption power as China. Locals joked that "in some popular tourist attractions in Thailand, shopping centers are almost open to tourists from China".
