What mobile phone shooting skills are there?

This topic is relatively big, so I will briefly talk about it from five aspects, and it is difficult to cover everything. You can read it with my other articles.

Basic operation

1, focus

Taking a clear subject is the minimum requirement, and accurate focusing is extremely critical. Mobile phone focusing can be divided into three ways: full automatic focusing, semi-automatic focusing and full manual focusing.

Auto-focusing is the simplest focusing method, and it is also a common focusing method for most people. After the composition, you can take photos directly by pressing the shutter, and the choice of focus is completely handed over to the mobile phone for automatic processing.

Its advantage is simple and quick, especially suitable for capturing those emergencies, and it can also be used in blind shot (without looking at the screen). The disadvantage is that sometimes the judgment of the mobile phone is different from our expression, and the focus of the automatic selection of the mobile phone is not necessarily the subject we want to highlight. Especially those photos that contain prospects, mobile phones often make mistakes in judgment.

Semi-automatic focusing is to point to the position of the subject on the screen with your finger after the composition is completed, which is equivalent to telling the mobile phone that the position I clicked is in focus.

There is also a full manual focusing method, but it is not commonly used. If you want to know more about focusing skills, you can read the article I shared before, "Comprehensive Interpretation, Three Focusing Methods of Mobile Photography, Full of Dry Goods".

Step 2 expose

When we choose the right focus, the mobile phone will also measure light at the position we choose, giving a reasonable exposure effect based on the gray scale of 18 degrees. If you are not satisfied with the exposure effect, you can adjust it.

After selecting the focus point, you can adjust the brightness of the picture by holding down the little sun next to the screen and sliding up and down. Sliding up will make the picture bright, and sliding down will make it dark. This is the exposure compensation function.

3. Focus and exposure locking

If you press the screen with your finger for a long time, you will see the prompt message of "Auto Exposure/Auto Focus Lock", which means that focus and exposure are locked at this time. At this time, you can move the mobile phone to re-compose and shoot, but the focus and exposure of the picture will not change because of the mobile phone. Exposure compensation can also be adjusted in the locked state.

The above photo was taken after I locked the focus (focusing on the building in the upper right corner) exposure, adjusted the exposure compensation, and then made an accurate composition.

4, focusing and photometry separation

Some mobile phones (such as Huawei) adopt the setting of separation of focusing and metering. Long press the screen, a square and a circle will appear. You can move their positions with your fingers. The square is the focus point and the circle is the metering point.

Place the square in a clear place on the screen, and the position of the circle can be adjusted according to the light characteristics of the picture and our expression needs. If placed in a bright part of the picture, the overall exposure will be darker. If placed in the dark part of the picture, the overall exposure will be brighter. Choose a place close to 18 gray, and the photo exposure will be relatively accurate.

Special shooting function

Including the shooting software function that comes with the mobile phone and the third-party shooting software function. Such as slow door function, time-lapse photography, HDR, etc.

Many Android phones have slow door function, and Apple phones need to download procam6 (paid) or slow shutter (paid). Time-lapse photography can be used in Lapse it, Apple and Android, but the Apple version is in English. Procam6 also has the function of time-lapse photography. In fact, the mobile phone comes with time-lapse photography, but the functions of professional software will be more comprehensive, such as interval time and frame rate and other parameters can be adjusted.
