How to raise koi fish?

Needless to say, the charm of koi fish is "swimming art" if it is well cultivated, and "soil cannon" if it is not well cultivated. Last week, I bought some koi fish and raised them. I raised eight koi fish directly on the balcony with a big turnover box.

A carp, a gold, a white character, a tricolor, four red and white. The small one is about 6 cm, and the large one is about 10 cm. The most expensive one is less than 15 yuan, so it should basically be eliminated.

I thought they wouldn't all survive, but now a week has passed and they are still alive and kicking. I have to say that koi fish is very adaptable. However, to put it simply, it is not easy to keep a good job.

If you have friends who want to raise koi fish, you can record the following 9 important breeding sites for your reference.

(1) What are the main varieties in koi fish? Traditionally, red and white, Dazheng tricolor and Showa tricolor are the most representative varieties in koi fish, which are collectively called "three royal families". Plus writing carp, also known as the "Big Four", these four species are the main ornamental species in koi fish. Among them, red and white are considered as the basis of koi fish's appreciation, and it is easy to appreciate other varieties after understanding red and white.

But after hundreds of years of continuous hybridization, improvement and breeding, more than 100 varieties have been cultivated. The Japanese authoritative organization "Love Scale Society" divides the existing koi fish into 13 categories: red and white, Taisho tricolor, Showa tricolor, writing carp, tortoise shell, light yellow, cloth, glossy writing, gold, patterned leather carp, gold and silver scales, Dante and variation carp.

It is worth mentioning that the earthen cannon itself is koi fish, but it can't meet the ornamental standards and its appearance is relatively general, so it is called the earthen cannon.

(2) koi fish's water body size koi fish is a huge ornamental fish, and its excellent genes can grow to more than 1 meter. Therefore, the size of the water body is the primary condition for raising koi fish.

As the saying goes, "big fish are raised in deep water". It is not recommended to keep koi fish in a fish tank with a water depth of 500 liters or less and a water depth of 50 cm or less. As for koi fish Fish Pond, the bigger the pond, the better. Ponds can be built according to the topographic conditions, but the water depth should not be lower than 1m at least.

Note that feeding and raising are two concepts. If you just want to support yourself, you can basically make koi fish live a good life with a turnover box and a better filter like me.

(3) What kind of filtration system does koi fish aquarium need? Koi fish eats a lot and pulls a lot, which is regarded as highly polluted ornamental fish, so it has higher requirements for the filtration system. Generally speaking, at least the following three requirements must be met:

A. The bottom suction pump can suck the feces clean;

B, impurities such as feces and residual bait can be effectively filtered;

C. The biochemical pool for fish tank filtration shall not be less than 15% of the water body.

(4) What does koi fish fear most? Koi fish has a strong adaptability to water quality, even if it is not sleepy. However, koi fish is most afraid of sudden changes in water temperature. When the water temperature suddenly rises or falls by about 6 degrees, koi fish may die immediately. Therefore, when changing water, we must control the temperature difference, and do not exceed 3 degrees.

In addition, the content of ammonia nitrogen and nitrite in the water exceeds the standard, which will also lead to koi fish poisoning, and even lead to koi fish's direct death in severe cases. Therefore, the next point 5 is very important.

(5) How to improve the biological filtration effect? Biofiltration generally refers to microbial filtration, which degrades harmful substances in water by cultivating microorganisms such as nitrifying bacteria, denitrifying bacteria and photosynthetic bacteria.

Many people mistakenly think that nitrifying bacteria can "eat" fish manure, but in fact, photosynthetic bacteria "eat" fish manure. Nitrifying bacteria can degrade ammonia nitrogen and nitrite in water, which is the key link in our fish culture and water treatment.

Nitrifying bacteria widely exist in nature. As long as it takes a certain time, it will produce itself in the fish tank, but the speed is very slow. Therefore, most people will choose to add nitrobacteria preparation.

Under normal circumstances, the water temperature is between 15~30℃, the dissolved oxygen in the water is sufficient, the nitrifying bacteria are more active and the degradation effect is better.

In addition to nitrifying bacteria, there are effective microbial agents such as denitrifying bacteria, photosynthetic bacteria, Bacillus, lactic acid bacteria and EM bacteria, all of which play an important role in improving water quality.

It is worth mentioning that the filtration system can not be used and stopped, which will affect the reproduction and growth of beneficial microorganisms such as nitrifying bacteria. If conditions permit, the filtration effect can be improved by adding biological filtration tanks and more filter materials.

(6) Is sunshine important to koi fish? Sunlight helps koi fish absorb calcium and produce pigments, so it is very important for koi fish. If you want to make koi fish more colorful, you need to have enough sunshine.

If you can't get sunshine, you can choose white or pink halogen lamps with color temperature above 6000k and guaranteed quality for auxiliary lighting.

Generally speaking, koi fish needs more than 50% sunlight every day to grow rapidly and keep its colors bright.

(7) Is it necessary to feed special koi fish fish feed? If you want to raise koi fish well, you should feed him special feed. Feed in koi fish is generally divided into five types: weight gain, growth, color enhancement, germ and staple food. In addition, koi fish loves to eat live bait, but live bait may do harm to koi fish.

As the name implies, each feed has its own function and should be fed according to the temperature. When the water temperature is below 20 degrees, it is recommended not to feed weight gain and coloring feed; When the water temperature is below 20 degrees, it is recommended to feed germ feed.

At present, the feed information on the market is uneven, and the use of fake and inferior feed may cause harm to koi fish. To raise koi fish well, we must choose good feed.

(8) How to prevent koi fish from getting sick? Although koi fish is easy to raise, it is easy to get sick, for example. Generally, newly introduced koi fish should be quarantined first. If conditions permit, it is best to observe it in isolation 1~2 weeks, and then put it in the main fish tank if there is no problem.

It must be remembered that there is no panacea. Prevention is always more important than cure. Don't take medicine as soon as you get sick. Maybe the fish died before it died.

The right medicine, accurate dosage, is one of the prerequisites for cure; But even if the medicine is right and the amount is right, the water should be kept clean, the dissolved oxygen is sufficient and the water temperature is stable.

All the rules are dead, and the treatment process should be based on the specific situation. At this time, experience is very important and needs to be accumulated.

Sea salt may be the best medicine to prevent diseases and treat minor illnesses. If your koi fish is always sick, you can find out the reasons from feeding density, filtration system performance, feeding quantity, water quality control, new fish quarantine and other factors.

(9) What about the green algae growing in fish tanks/ponds in koi fish? In the case of sufficient dissolved oxygen, green algae is harmless to koi fish, but it may reduce its ornamental value.

If it is kept in a fish tank with a small water body, the green algae spores can be killed with a closed overflow ultraviolet germicidal lamp; If it is raised in koi fish fish pond with a large water body, the fertility in the water body can be controlled, or the green algae can be removed by methods such as algaecide.

By the way, if it is the green algae on the wall of the outdoor koi fish fish pond, if there is no obsessive-compulsive disorder, it is recommended not to remove it and keep the dissolved oxygen in the water body sufficient.

The main points of raising koi fish are the above nine points (the first point is the basic knowledge, which needs to be understood). If you have any better suggestions, please add them.

Especially for beginners, I believe the above 9 points will help you.
