What are the "treasures" of historical buildings and how to "protect"

Teach you to recognize "treasure"

First, traditional houses.

Zhao Chang Guild Hall, located in Li Jiao Village, Haizhu District, was built in the Guangxu period of the late Qing Dynasty, which well preserved the pattern of "three rooms and two corridors" of traditional houses in the Pearl River Delta.

According to reports, this building belongs to the traditional residential style of Guangfu, with a brick-wood structure and two floors. It has been used for living and has remained basically the same.

Like all buildings of the same period and type, Zhao Changtang's "body" can generally be divided into floors, walls, doors and windows, roofs and other parts. In "antiques", walls include blue brick walls and downpipes. Doors and windows include waist doors, wicker doors, wooden doors and sill windows. The roof includes cornices, tiles and dripping and rolling tiles. In addition, gray plastics, wood carvings, glazed components, internal sacred buildings and furnishings are also elements that reflect the historical features of buildings and deserve special protection.

Second, Xiaoyanglou (real estate information)

There are many foreign-style historical buildings in Nonglin Street in Yuexiu District. Take Nonglin Road1No.2 Courtyard, the former site of the demonstration community, as an example. This two-story fair-faced red brick house, built in the Republic of China, adopts brick-concrete structure, showing the architectural style of combining Chinese and western styles, and is also well preserved at present.

For Xiaoyanglou, the owner should pay special attention to protecting its fair-faced red brick walls, western-style hilltops and glazed components. When repairing, don't stick a layer of red brick on the outer wall.

Third, arcade/street house

Historical buildings such as arcades and street houses can be seen everywhere in the old city of Guangzhou. Because of their mixed functions, it is particularly difficult to protect them.

Take the arcade at No.278 Daxin Road in Yuexiu District as an example. This arcade, built in the Republic of China1920s, is five stories high. Previously, it was only used for living, but now its function is mixed with business and residence, which has been well protected in many historic buildings with arcades.

For historical buildings with arcade/street-facing houses, the value elements of the wall include the wall itself (such as fair-faced red brick wall), wall decoration (such as Shanghai partner and Italian partner), old doors and windows with main facade or visible facade along the street, characteristic balcony, characteristic railing, artistic decoration and lines, etc. The value elements of the roof include western hills (blocking the river), Chinese glazed tiles and Chinese pavilions. And other traditional decorations, such as gray plastic.

Fourth, modern housing.

In the late Republic of China, a number of modern houses appeared in Guangzhou. Even today, these houses are not out of date, but they have many historical charms.

The former residence of Lingnan architect Ke, located at No.394 Yuexiu North Road, is a typical representative of modern residence. This historic building was designed by Lin Keming himself and built at 1935. Reinforced concrete frame structure is adopted, with three floors in total.

The wall of Ke's former residence and its swing are important value elements of the house. In addition, the characteristic balcony, art decoration and wrought iron preserved in the house deserve more protection from future generations.

With the in-depth study of historical buildings, the types and quantities of value elements of historical buildings will continue to increase in the future, which also means that the repair guidelines for historical buildings will be updated and supplemented.

At present, according to the survey results of the first batch of historical buildings, there are 32 main value elements, which are distributed in different "body parts" of the building. The following is a detailed list.

The general classification includes the main facade and visible facade along the street, main structure, plane layout and historical and environmental elements.

The ground and floor include terrace tiles and characteristic stairs.

There are blue brick walls, clear water red brick walls, Shanghai Paidang (water-brushed stone paidang or stone-washed rice), Italian Paidang (terrazzo paidang or napping), arch coupons, characteristic balconies, characteristic railings, artistic decoration, downspouts, stone footholds and red sandstone footholds.

Doors and windows include walkways, waist doors, plank doors, full windows and sill windows.

The roof includes three kinds of cornices: western hills, cornices, tiles and dripping water, roller tiles, Chinese glazed tiles, Chinese pavilions and western structures.

Others include wrought iron, bucket arch, gray plastic, wood carving, brick carving, stone carving, color painting, glass components, red sandstone components and so on.

Hold the "bottom line"

Sticking bricks on the wall, hanging air conditioners at will, pulling wires privately, ... all these behaviors have caused great damage to historical buildings, but they are common in reality.

It is reported that after the publication of the Guidelines for the Renovation of Historical Buildings, a "bottom line" will be set for the protection of historical buildings, and a number of behaviors that are prohibited from being implemented in historical buildings will be clearly stipulated, which are the real problems found in years of visits and investigations.

Prohibited acts include:

Change the main facade or visible facade (shape, material, color) along the street.

Install air conditioning equipment on the main facade or the visible facade along the street.

Set drainage pipes on the main facade or the visible facade along the street (except the original design pipes).

Set wires on the main facade or the visible facade along the street.

On the main facade or along the street, you can see billboards or lights that are not in harmony with the neighborhood and architectural style.

Add awnings that are not in harmony with the facade or set up awnings with various styles in the same building.

Close the balcony or corridor with metal doors and windows.

Install security doors or security window outside the original doors and windows.

Change the door frame or window frame (color, material, shape)

Build on the roof of the original building

Increase the load without authorization, engage in damage to the main load-bearing structure of the building or other activities that endanger the safety of the building.

Stacking flammable, explosive and corrosive materials in historical buildings.
