During my undergraduate course, I participated in several school-level debates and had some experience. A good starting point for this debate is to explain the nature of innovation and tradition. That is, tradition is not immutable, but it is conservative to some extent. It is easy to understand that tradition will adapt to the new environment and produce new traditions. Innovation does not come out of thin air, but also comes from tradition. The significance of tradition lies in preserving behaviors and cultures that conform to the core of national spirit, while innovation lies in changing bad habits that do not conform to the trend of the times. At present, social tradition and innovation have not been well realized, and the essence lies in the fragmented national value orientation.
