What is epc?

EPC, the combination of engineering (design) and procurement (construction), is called general contracting of engineering procurement and construction in Chinese, which refers to the project mode in which the general contracting enterprise undertakes the design, procurement, construction and trial operation of the project according to the regulations and is fully responsible for the project.

Simply put, the tenderer wants to build a project, so he recruits the general contractor through public bidding, and then the contractor is responsible for the whole process from design to completion, and the owner only needs to accept the delivery of the project. Because the owner does not need too much participation in this process, it is also called "turnkey general contract".

2.EPC operation mode

First, the project owner determines a general contractor through public bidding.

Then, the general contractor will complete the whole process of project design, procurement and construction.

In general, EPC projects are allowed to be submitted by the consortium. Unless the enterprise has dual qualifications of design and construction, a construction unit will take the lead to form a consortium, and the design part will be undertaken by the members of the consortium (design unit). In the process of procurement and construction, the general contractor will have the demand of procurement and subcontracting, so he will contact some suppliers and subcontractors of non-main projects.

Finally, when the project construction is completed, the general contractor will deliver the project to the owner for use.
