Why did you go to worship? When burning incense, burn incense with your left hand.
Note: incense should not be called "buy", but "please"
Precautions for burning incense:
There are many bodhisattvas in the temple. You can worship them one by one if you like. If time doesn't allow, all you have to do is burn them in front of the Ursa major. The steps are as follows:
Please buy your own incense, others can't pay.
It's best to burn incense with your own fire (three is enough, and you don't need to burn a lot of incense), face the main entrance of the main hall (you can't burn incense in the main hall for fire prevention now), gently hold three Qing Xiang in your hands (the man's left hand is on the top, the right hand is on the bottom, and the woman is on the other hand), and suddenly mention the top, and the burning fire will go out immediately. Never blow it out with your mouth.
When you burn incense, burn incense first and then worship. Many people hold a handful of incense and worship everywhere. There are hot incense ashes everywhere in the temple, and the thick smoke makes people's eyes hard to open. They think that the higher the fragrance, the more sincere the heart. These are expressions that they don't understand. In fact, three incense sticks are enough, and you can worship in one furnace. When "a furnace of ten thousand buddhas" passes by without a Buddhist temple, just cross your hands and worship three times. There are not many Buddhists at all.
Hold the incense as high as your forehead, close your eyes and make a wish; Then worship three times. (The height of incense cannot be lower than the lower body. )
Turn right, facing east (usually the main hall door faces south), make a wish in the third step, and worship three times; Then face south and face north.
After the worship, you can put incense in the incense burner. Note: burn incense with your left hand, because your right hand kills you, and your left hand should be relatively peaceful. You shouldn't throw it into the incense burner.
Don't burn incense when a woman has her period.
Burning incense in the temple is to light your heart, and lighting a lamp is to light your heart. At this time, you can get the blessing of Buddha and Bodhisattva, thus gaining wisdom and so on. So you can burn one, two, three at most. No need to burn more. When you enter the temple to burn incense, you can bring it with you or buy it from outside. However, incense is usually found in the main hall and can be used directly. If economic conditions permit, you can put some merit money into the merit box. If it's hard, don't worry that the Bodhisattva won't blame you. You have the same merit in worshipping Buddha.
But many people who have seen Buddhism please hang a rosary around their necks. Master said that most people can't afford it. So I hope that if a friend invites a rosary in the future, please bring it.
Burn three incense, one for Buddha, one for dharma and one for monk;
In the middle of the cushion in the temple, it is for family members to worship Buddha. In the family, men bow their heads with the left one and women with the right one.
Walk clockwise in the temple to worship Buddha.
Try not to walk in the middle before entering the temple, along the edge of the stairs, men are left and women are right, and try not to walk through the main entrance, because the door of the night abbot enters from the main entrance, while the novice monk enters from the side entrance, so in order to be consistent with the temple, everyone tries to enter from the side entrance, men are left and women are right, crossing their right feet as much as possible when entering, and going out from the side entrance without stepping on the threshold (generally, the threshold of the temple is very high). Never step on the threshold when you enter the temple gate. It is said that the threshold is God's shoulder or something, and stepping on it is disrespectful. )
First of all, be pious, be honest and keep your hands clean. Don't make noise and say irrelevant "nagging" in the temple. Don't point your finger at the Buddha statue. Don't make noise and say disrespectful things. More importantly, you can't make a wish casually, because you must keep it. If you are not sure, don't make a wish. Don't ask for wealth, Buddha didn't bless you to get rich. You can seek peace and health. Don't just promise to give the Buddha something to support and then forget it. Buddha does not dispute your fragrance. This statement tells us not to make promises at will. The so-called life must be carried out as promised. It should be these lies that annoy the Buddha.
Don't cross the futon, because it will also give people an unconscious feeling, and it is impolite to stand in front of the pilgrims who are burning incense when you worship in the future, because it may make others feel (verbally), greedy, (verbally) and stupid, which are the three poisons on the road to practice. It is difficult to see the truth if the three poisons are not extinguished.
To make a wish in Taoist temple is to realize it. Come back after a year's wish has come true. Just go in and ask someone. If you don't make a wish, just worship, then you don't have to. Generally speaking, monasteries don't have to make a wish, but you'd better make a wish and do a lot of good deeds. Make a wish. Make your own wish.
Without the consent of the temple, you may not pick flowers and fruits within the management scope of the temple, or take offerings and other things without permission. This is also a wrong behavior. It's called "four places to steal" and you'll get the result.
Don't eat meat in the temple.
Scriptures are usually distributed in temples. Don't forget to invite a few. What is more precious than scripture in the world?
Please don't place the amulet of scripture at will. You should put a clean bookcase away. When sharing a room, there must be no legal items such as Buddhist amulets in the room, because amulets and other amulets protect the body, and they will not work if they are infected with evil spirits. This is what we should remember.
If it is because they are haunted by evil creditors, they will be happy to go back to the unjust creditors after worshipping.
Finishing:
① Entering the temple: After entering the temple gate, you should not walk straight in the middle, but walk along your left arm when advancing and retreating. When entering the temple gate, it is best to carry the hat and crutches on your back or put them in his room. Never put it on the Buddha case or the Buddha table.
(2) The mat in the center of the main hall is used by the temple owner. You shouldn't have worshipped on the mats on both sides last week. You should worship men, women and the left separately. You shouldn't walk in front of someone when he is praying.
(3) Reading: If there is a public reading in the temple, the family will sit up and read. You must wash your hands first and put them on the table. They look flat. You can't hold the bread roll or put it on your lap. Clothes and hats, etc. In particular, you should not join the classics.
(4) Meeting a monk: Meeting a monk is called a mage, or a big monk. When bowing to him, if he says a bow, there is no need to continue to bow. Ordinary people are not allowed to worship Buddha, meditate, chant Buddhist scripture, eat, sleep, menstruate or go to the toilet.
⑤ Instruments: The bells and drums in the temple should not be knocked, and things such as cassock and sea blue should not be tampered with.
⑥ Listening to Scripture: Sit with all worshippers. If you arrive late, the master has been promoted. You must bow to the Buddha, take a step back and then bow to the master. After taking a seat, don't greet acquaintances, don't sit on the table, cough and talk. If you can't finish listening, but do it to the mage, quit quietly, and don't wave others to let you quit.
Incense means discipline, flowers mean certainty, and lamps mean wisdom.
abstract:
Everything is in line with the rules.
Burning incense is the support, burning sandalwood is the best.
Monks should be provided with food, clothes and medical supplies.
Incense means discipline, and three branches mean wisdom.
Huabiao meditation
Flowers with thorns cannot be offered to Buddha.
Peach blossom symbolizes men and women and cannot be offered to Buddha.
Light before Buddha indicates wisdom.
The layman replied:
A pure heart! Of course, it is best to take a bath or change rooms within three days, but we should put Buddhism first, take harmony and convenience as the main purpose, and don't flinch from people who first heard of Buddhism because of many taboos.
It is true that incense is placed on the left hand, but there are no hard and fast rules for ordinary people. Buddhism also has etiquette. After we light the incense, if the fire is still there, it's best not to blow it out with your mouth, nor to shake the incense or fan the wind.
After the worship, take one in your left hand and go to the middle first, so as to serve the Buddha and not fall into hell.
The second branch goes to the right, reading the law of support and not falling hungry ghosts.
The third branch goes up to the left, thinking of supporting monks and not falling on animals.
This incense is more in line with Buddhist etiquette, and people can better understand the solemn Buddha statue.
But now most temples are a big incense burner in front of the Buddhist temple. As soon as they approached, smoke billowed and hot air hit their faces. There are many pilgrims who simply put a lot of incense in it.
In this case, I won't burn incense, just cross my hands and pray.
When visiting a temple, you should know the rules:
Famous temples are widely distributed and are the focus of tourists' love to visit, but tourists should keep in mind four taboos when visiting temples to avoid disputes and unpleasantness.
Don't call it improper.
Monks and Taoists in temples should be regarded as "teachers" or "wizards", and the monks in charge should be called "elders", "abbots" and "Zen masters". Monks in the Lama Temple call them "lamas", which means "guru". Avoid calling them "monks", "monks" or even other insulting names.
Second, avoid improper manners.
The common way to greet monks is to put your hands together and bow your head slightly, or stand upright on your chest with your head slightly lower. Don't shake hands, hug, touch monks and other improper ways.
Three bogeys: improper words.
When talking with monks and Taoists, don't mention killing, getting married, eating fishy meat and other words, so as not to arouse the dislike of monks.
Four taboos: improper behavior
When visiting a temple, don't shout, give directions, laugh at, walk around or fiddle with things in the temple. In particular, it is forbidden to touch and carve statues. In case of Buddhist activities, you should stand still or leave quietly.
Five taboos for children's rudeness
At the same time, we should take good care of our children and don't do impolite things because of their ignorance.
