This problem should be witnessed from several aspects: First, our understanding of the concept of oil painting is mature, and oil painting has been gradually assimilated by our nation since it was introduced to China for more than one hundred years. We have completed the process from introduction, digestion and absorption to turning it into an ordinary painting that we can perceive and use freely. China has the largest oil painting army in the world. Who else will make a fuss about western painting today? Western painting and China traditional ink and wash live in harmony and complement each other, which is also recognized by China people. What kind of oil painting exhibition is mentioned today only refers to the types of paintings, and there is no distinction between Chinese and western concepts. Especially in today's era, we develop and give oil painting an accurate positioning that conforms to the significance and value of the times. Secondly, the experience of oil painting materials tends to be mature. We will never talk about oil painting materials in isolation again. All our emotional concerns have become the theme of our paintings. The pigments on the palette are like condiments cooked by chefs for every China oil painter. Although there is still a gap between material manufacturing and foreign countries, it has been completely localized. Thirdly, the knowledge and understanding of oil painting techniques have reached a new level. On the issue of techniques, here I mainly talk about the relationship with nationalization. We are engaged in oil painting, including oil painting educators. For many years, we have always thought that learning oil painting is just learning oil painting techniques. As for what to do after learning, few people talk about it. The skill learning of western masters is not in the way of taking, but in the sub-health state of kneeling. Completely ignoring the changes of the times, struggling in a relatively static quagmire. In China's fine arts colleges, oil painting teaching has a strict foundation and creative boundaries, which is a good example. Although the situation has improved in recent years, it has not fundamentally jumped out of this fatal misunderstanding. At present, some people are shouting loudly that there are no oil painters in China. If we don't completely lose our servility and liberate ourselves from the role of primary school students, it will be difficult for China to become a master. In recent years, the debate about the nationalization of oil painting has no substantive significance. It is better to throw away the baggage, study the problems of art itself with a calm and pragmatic attitude, and do your own thing. Art has its own laws, and it is impossible to pull out the seedlings and encourage haste for success. Look at the flying artistic thoughts with a clear mind and an inclusive mind. Nationalization is the natural externalization of the national spirit, not shouted out, let alone won out. We should adjust our attitude towards oil painting and regard it as a painting with its own unique material characteristics, which is a tool for us to express our feelings. Please remove it from our spiritual position and let it return to its proper position in this era. We don't have to worry about being completely westernized. The 5,000-year-old cultural history of the Chinese nation cannot be qualitatively changed overnight.
