Introduction:

Shangluo University is a full-time public undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education and organized by the Shaanxi Provincial Government, located in Shangluo, Shaanxi Province.

Shangluo University was founded in 1976 as the Shangluo Area Five-Seven Teachers' College of Shaanxi Province, renamed Shangluo Specialized Training College of Shaanxi Normal University in 1979, and Shangluo Teachers' College in 1984, merged with Shangluo Agricultural School of Shaanxi Province in 2005, and was upgraded to Shangluo College by the approval of the Ministry of Education in 2006, and became a provincial and municipal ****built college in 2011, and was included in the transformation and development programs of the Shaanxi Province in 2014. In 2014, it was listed in the first batch of pilot colleges for transformation and development in Shaanxi Province, in 2017, it was selected as one of the 100 applied colleges of the national industry-teaching integration and development project, and in 2018, it was recognized as the construction unit of "first-class colleges" in Shaanxi Province. It is a member unit of the National Alliance of Newly Built Undergraduate Colleges and Universities, the first batch of social science popularization base units in Shaanxi Province, and the innovation and entrepreneurship base for practice and education in Shaanxi universities. It has established friendly relations with Xi'an Jiaotong University, Shaanxi Normal University, Northwestern University, Zhejiang Wanli University and other domestic colleges and universities in terms of counterpart support and cooperation in running schools.

As of October 2021, the university has 3 campuses covering an area of more than 900 acres, with 11 second-level colleges and the Department of Physical Education Teaching and Research, offering 42 undergraduate majors; more than 12,000 students; 803 faculty and staff members; and 8 provincial-level research platforms and 12 municipal-level scientific research platforms have been built.

History

In 1976, the predecessor of Shangluo College, "Shaanxi Normal University, Shangluo College" was established.

In 1984, the name was changed to Shangluo Normal College with the approval of the People's Government of Shaanxi Province.

In May 2005, Shangluo Agricultural School was transferred and incorporated into Shangluo Normal College.

In February 2006, approved by the Ministry of Education to upgrade to undergraduate colleges and universities, and at the same time changed its name to Shangluo College.

On July 5, 2011, the Department of Education of Shaanxi Province and Shangluo Municipal People's Government held a signing ceremony for the agreement on the establishment of Shangluo College, making Shangluo College the third local undergraduate college in Shaanxi Province.

In 2013, Shangluo College's full-time enrollment will exceed 10,000 for the first time, reaching 10,700, two years ahead of schedule to achieve the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" scheduled for 10,000 students.

In 2014, it was recognized by the Provincial Department of Education as a pilot university for the transformation and development of universities of applied technology.

In 2016, it passed the qualified assessment of undergraduate teaching work by the Ministry of Education.

In 2017, it was selected as one of the 100 applied colleges and universities of the country identified by the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Affairs for the development project of integration of industry and education.

In 2018, it was recognized as a "first-class college" construction unit in Shaanxi Province.
