Xiangdao, magical fragrant flowers, magnolia flowers

Magnolia is a kind of magnolia. In the eyes of the ancients, magnolia is like plum blossom, "not afraid of the cold in winter, the only one", full of cold fragrance. White flowers and elegant fragrance won the special courtesy and favor of ancient China literati.

For example, Qu Yuan compared the morning dew in Yu Lan Ci to the nectar of jade liquid, "Drink Yu Lan dew in the morning and eat Qiu Ju in the evening". Magnolia is in full bloom, the flowers are huge, white as jade, and the trees are crystal clear and beautiful, which is a noble representative in the hearts of literati.

And "magnolia" refers to a kind of magnolia. Bai Juyi said in a poem: "The purple powder nib contains flame, and the red rouge dyes the small lotus flower. What do you know about fragrance? I am so angry that the monk regrets becoming a monk! "

Flos Magnoliae, a fragrant medicine, is a dried flower bud of Flos Magnoliae, with strong fragrance. Usually picked in late winter and early spring when the buds are not released, and dried in the shade, it is called magnolia flower, or simply magnolia flower.

According to the explanation in Shuo Wen Jie Zi, the smell of Xinzhi fragrant medicine is transformed into the shape of fragrant medicine, which means that Yi Zhe is fat and fat is the bud of native vegetation. Here, we describe the villi of Xin Yi's bud shell.

There are many aliases for Xinyi, among which Hou Tao and Hou and Monkey are ancient interchangeable words, which vividly compare the appearance of Xinyi to a little hairy monkey.

As a kind of perfume, Flos Magnoliae was used in the aromatic life of the ancients in the pre-Qin period. 1972 Among the four embroidered sachets unearthed in Mawangdui No.1 Han Tomb, one contained Maoxiang, one contained Zanthoxylum bungeanum, and the other two contained Maoxiang and Flos Magnoliae.

The two fuming stoves unearthed from Mawangdui Han Tomb have traces of being used. When one was unearthed, it was said that "the stove plate was full of burnt Maoxiang roots", and the other was that "the stove plate was full of Maoxiang, Alpinia officinarum, Flos Magnoliae and other herbs". ?

This fumigation method mixed with various herbs is an early incense method used in China, which not only seeks clean smell, but also drives away mosquitoes by fumigation. It can be seen from the mixed burning of medicinal materials that the incense used in the Han Dynasty started from a single spice in the pre-Qin period to a "combined fragrance".

Dong, a writer, is the author of "Smoke-free Fragrance-Leaving Law". In Mei Xiang Fa, he used Flos Magnoliae to simulate the rhyme of plum blossoms: "Plum blossoms are cold and astringent, so the rest are clear with Flos Magnoliae, astringent with fennel, cold with white sandalwood, whip with Lingling, made with Gan Song and mixed with honey, which is as fragrant as plum." ?

Instead of using real flowers as incense, various spices are used to imitate the characteristics of plum blossom fragrance, and the "plum blossom fragrance" is modulated and simulated through compatibility and combination. This kind of fragrant prescription which uses fragrant medicine to simulate the fragrance of flowers is called fragrant prescription.

In the book "Xiangcheng", there are more than 20 prescriptions that simulate the fragrance of plum blossoms, but none of them are made of real plum blossoms. It can be seen that plum blossom is the most popular among the ancients, and magnolia flower often appears in plum blossom used for smoking clothes and wearing.

For example, plum blossom fragrance: "One or two cloves, one or two agastaches, one or two Gan Song, one or two sandalwood, one or two Queena Ding peels, one or two peony peels, one or two cloves, one magnolia flower and one borneol. The one on the right is especially suitable for ordinary use."

This kind of fragrance is recorded in the category of "Setting Flowers" in Xiangcheng, which can be used for daily fragrance, but it is most suitable for wearing clothes.

Simulate the scent of smoked plum blossoms, as well as the scent of smoked cloves and plum blossoms in Mo 'e Lvxiao, and the scent of plum blossoms in Nanjianfu of Fang Yilei's dramas.

Smoked clothes/? Plum blossom fragrance in Nanjianfu: 50% wood, 50% sandalwood and 50% Gan Song. Pogostemon Pogostemonis, Cortex Moutan, Zizania latifolia and Polyporus each 1-2 tablets, Dingpi, Sanyozi, Guigui and Flos Magnoliae each 2 tablets, with coarse powder on the right. Wet the sugarcane juice, cover it with paper and soak it in the sun.

Flos Magnoliae is often used for "clothing fragrance" that does not simulate floral fragrance. In the Song Dynasty, the "fragrance method" in Zhu Hong's "Fragrance Spectrum" and the "Jiebiao Fragrance" in the Ming Dynasty's "Ancient and Modern Medicine Daquan" both used Xinyi.

Clothing fragrance method: 6 kg of Linglingxiang, two Gan Song sandalwood 12, half a clove peel, half a magnolia flower and one fennel. Mash it on the right and add a little musk deer.

In addition to the medicinal use of Flos Magnoliae as a spice, ancient people also used Flos Magnoliae as a fragrant material.

In the Qing Dynasty, Chen Yunzi's "Flower Mirror" recorded that Xinyi "flowers are fragrant, and many people take the core to combine the fragrance", and in the Ming Dynasty's "Xiangcheng", it was clearly recorded that Xinyi used the core tip.

Peony, rose, jasmine, lotus, magnolia flower, osmanthus, costustoot, plum blossom, orchid. Take ten kinds of flowers, dry them in the shade, remove pedicels, and use petals, but magnolia takes the core tip as the end and is blended and burned with real turpentine oil, which is different from all incense.

In the book "Fragrant City", there are other fragrances made of Flos Magnoliae, such as fenluo fragrance, Changchun fragrance and stone temple pillow fragrance. These brands of incense, clothing and incense can not only fumigate clothes, but also have the functions of expelling plague and health care. All perfumes contain a large amount of volatile oil, which can inhibit or kill bacteria and viruses to varying degrees.

In Qin and Han dynasties, Flos Magnoliae was listed as a top-grade medicinal material by doctors, which has the effects of dredging nasal orifices and dispelling cold. In the spring when colds and respiratory diseases occur frequently, you can make a simple sachet:

Mix flos Magnoliae, rhizoma Atractylodis, rhizoma Chuanxiong, radix Angelicae Dahuricae, herba Agastaches and herba Menthae, grin into coarse powder, wrapping with gauze, and packaging into small bag. Let the faint fragrance be carried with you, and smelling it often helps to relieve nasal congestion and prevent rhinitis and nasal congestion.
