Medium frequency electric furnace has strong adaptability to burden, and the variety and size of burden can be changed in a wide range, while power frequency electric furnace is still a good equipment in hot metal storage, heat preservation, alloy composition adjustment and overheating.

2. Environmental requirements and costs: the medium frequency electric furnace has high power factor, small harmonics, small floor space and low equipment investment. Under the same conditions, the average power consumption of medium frequency electric furnace is also low, while the power frequency electric furnace has higher requirements on the environment, and is often used as the double furnace of smelting furnaces such as blast furnace and cupola.
