Timed writing, simulating the atmosphere of a real exam
The official requirement is to complete a small essay of about 150-200 words in 20 minutes, which accounts for one-third of the total writing score. The larger essays generally require a minimum of 250 words in 40 minutes and account for two-thirds of the writing score.

Smaller essays are not very difficult to write, and you need to focus on improving the ability to obtain effective information quickly, discover the pattern of change in the data, and quickly summarize the comparisons. The ability to do so is a key factor in the success of the program. Grammar and vocabulary, as the focus of the essay is to summarize information and trends, the register should be professional and academic, the sentences are brief and accurate, and complex clauses can be used as embellishments; the vocabulary focuses on reflecting diversity.
When preparing for the exam, you should consciously accumulate some synonyms of key words, such as verbs expressing trends (improving, decreasing, growing, etc.), adverbs expressing degrees (significantly, steadily, in small increments), and nouns (fluctuating, flat, etc.).
