Bai Juyi (772-846), the character Lotte, the name of Xiangshan Jushi, also known as Mr. Drunken Yin, was born in Xinzheng, Henan Province, and was originally from Taiyuan, but moved to Xiqi by the time of his great-grandfather. He was a great realist poet of the Tang Dynasty, one of the three great poets of the Tang Dynasty. Together with Yuan Zhen***, Bai Juyi advocated the New Music Movement, and was known as "Yuan Bai", and together with Liu Yuxi, he was known as "Liu Bai". Bai Juyi's poetry has a wide range of subjects, a variety of forms, and a simple and common language, and is known as the "Poetry Devil" and the "King of Poetry".
