Animal husbandry and veterinary medicine has a long history in China, and Oracle bone inscriptions contain a lot of knowledge in this field. Most veterinary books were lost in the future, and this situation was not changed until the emergence of therapeutic horses in Yuan Heng. Medical Horse Collection contains agricultural books and major animal husbandry and veterinary works before the Ming Dynasty, including Qi Shu, Si Shi Bian Yao, Miracle Lun and Muse Anji Collection. This summative classic veterinary work laid the foundation of traditional veterinary medicine in China. After the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was reprinted many times and spread widely.
Yuan Heng's Treatise on Horses was originally named Treatise on Horses, which was originally written by Yu Jie and Yu Ren in Liu 'an Prefecture of Zhili in Ming Dynasty, and later added to Treatise on Cattle and Camels, which is called Yuan Heng's Treatise on Horses and Horses or Yuan Heng's Complete Works of Camels and Horses. Yuan Heng Healing Horse Collection is divided into four volumes: spring, summer, autumn and winter. There are pictures 1 12, 3 essays, 50 songs/kloc-0, and more than 300 prescriptions. Yuan Heng's Collection of Treatments for Horses, Cattles and Camels consists of six volumes of Horse Classic, two volumes of Cattle Classic and three volumes of Camel Classic. Soon, Guo Huaiyou, a famous veterinarian in Lu 'an, made a comprehensive adaptation and interpretation of Yuan Heng's horse treatment method. It was discovered by Anhui Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Research Institute, collected and published in complete sets, and was named "The Complete Works of New Notes on Horses, Cattles and Camels". Yuan Heng's horse collection is a symbol of the maturity of traditional veterinary medicine in China. Chinese veterinary medicine and Chinese medicine are developing together. Traditional Chinese medicine had a rigorous theoretical system and a set of diagnosis and treatment methods in the Han Dynasty, but the veterinarians in China were in a state of disorder until "Yuan Heng ruled the horse" formed its own relatively independent system. Yuan Heng's Zhi Ma Ji is complete in theory, methods and prescriptions, which not only lays the foundation of veterinary medicine in China, but also embodies the highest level of veterinary medicine development in China.
So far, there are more than 60 versions of Yuan Heng therapeutic horses collected. At present, the teaching materials of Chinese veterinary medicine in higher and secondary agricultural universities in China basically follow the theory, method and prescription system of this book. Japan, North Korea and other countries have published selected translations of this book. Yuan Heng's "Managing Horses" is one of the immortal masterpieces of science and technology in ancient China, and its authors Yu and Yu Benheng are famous in history.
