What is Pop Art, Pop Art

Pop Art An art style primarily derived from commercial art forms (also known as neorealism and neo-Dada), characterized by enlarged reproductions of details from popular culture, such as comic strips, fast food, and trademarked packaging. Pop Art developed in New York in the late 1950s, when the Abstract Expressionism it opposed was in its final flourishing. In the mid-1960s, Pop Art replaced Abstract Expressionism and became the mainstream avant-garde art. In the late 1960s, Pop Art began to give way to Minimalist Art (MINIMAL ART) and Hard-Edge Painting (HARD-EDGE PAINTING).
