Advantages and disadvantages of European architecture
Let me tell you something. I don't know if you can accept:
1, the large palaces and churches in ancient Europe were mostly made of stone (ancient Rome used natural concrete, that is, volcanic ash). This kind of building is characterized by long construction time (it is common for churches to be built for a hundred years) and easy to collapse during construction (those churches have collapsed, especially the Gothic bell tower). Buildings are preserved for a long time (stones are not afraid of wind and rain, but insects can't chew them), which often shows strong determination and strength (how can ordinary people have the time and money to make such things? ! )
2. In ancient Europe, ordinary people owned wooden houses, but it was much worse than China. They use a truss structure. You see, the truss of that house in England is still leaking out. It's very personal. This kind of house is not conducive to preservation, it must rot quickly (of course, compared with the church in five or six hundred years), and the house is unfamiliar. The structure of the first floor and the second floor is separated, which makes the second floor fall down!
3. The buildings in China are mainly wood structures, which are mainly divided into cross buckets and hanging beams. Take traditional folk houses as an example, the local climate and environment are different, which leads to different forms of folk houses. However, due to China's traditional thought, "quadrangles" are extremely common. The cabin will be miserable if it is not repaired.
In other words, it costs a lot of money to maintain the wooden house. Unlike a stone house, it's just a little dirty. Just cleaning them. The wooden house should be waterproof and insect-proof.
I wonder if you are satisfied?

The words of European folk houses are basically not mentioned in our department's class, just some corners. But decorations such as columns and feet do not appear in houses, just as there are few paintings in houses in China.
