The earliest girls' middle school in Beijing

The earliest girls' middle school in Beijing is Beijing No.1 Girls' Middle School, referred to as Beijing Xinlou No.1 Middle School for short. It is located in Xuanwu Mennei Street (now Xuanwu Menwai Street) in Xicheng District, Beijing. It is a modern middle school which focuses on sports culture and is specially set up for girls.

The predecessor of Beijing No.1 Girls' Middle School was Mencius School, which was founded by Sun and his partners in 1907. Formerly known as "Mencius School" and later renamed as "No.1 Girls' Middle School", it has a history of more than 1 10 years. 1907, Sun opened the Mencius School in Xuanwumennei Street, and promulgated the "Mencius School Charter", which stipulated that "students should have an innocent family, be generous, meet tuition fees and abide by school discipline", which marked the germination of modern education in China.
