The "intangible legend" in Zhuxian Town, Henan Province refers to woodcut New Year pictures, which is one of the ancient handicrafts in China. Zhuxian Town's woodcut New Year pictures are called the originator of China woodcut New Year pictures. On May 20th, 2006, Zhuxian Town Woodblock New Year Pictures were approved to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.

Zhuxian Town woodblock New Year pictures were born in the Tang Dynasty and began to flourish in the Song Dynasty. Due to the invention of movable type printing in the Northern Song Dynasty, the engraving printing industry was pushed to a new peak, and New Year pictures began to change from strokes to rigid printing.
