Can the fermentation bed raise cattle?

The fermentation bed can be used to raise cattle, which is completely different from the past, because grass can not decompose feces, but can only keep warm and absorb feces and urine, while the fermentation bed can completely decompose cow dung and absorb volatile cow urine.

The service life is closely related to the selection, management and feeding density of materials. For example, if sawdust is used as padding, the service life of wild miscellaneous wood sawdust with large inertia will be longer, while that of Chinese fir with small inertia will be slightly shorter. If the feeding density is too high in use, the padding will be overloaded and the life of the padding will be shortened. Poor management in cultivation will often lead to mat being soaked in water, or adding soil and rotting soil to let wild miscellaneous bacteria (indigenous bacteria) enter the mat layer, which will also cause mat to harden seriously, accelerate mat decay and shorten its service life. Generally speaking, summer sleeping mats made of miscellaneous wood can be used for about 4 years under normal management.

First of all, we should choose inert materials with high lignification, as long as the sawdust and bran powder of any tree are not toxic. Where sawdust is scarce, you can buy miscellaneous wood to crush it. There are special wood mills in the market, which can be crushed with a 3-5 mm sieve. The whole cushion can be made of sawdust, but not all chaff. If there are many chaff resources in the local area, the number of chaff in the first 20 cm should not exceed 50%.

The bottom layer of 30 cm can be all chaff and sawdust, or straw, such as corn straw, bagasse, trees, bamboo sawdust, peanut shells, etc. But straw can't be used, nor can straw be used on the fermentation bed, because it is easy to harden and rot.
