National ranking of Texas A&M University

Texas A&M University ranks 12 1 in the ranking of American universities in 2020.

Texas A&M University (Texas A & ampm University, or TAMU or Texas A&; M), or "Texas A&M University Ka Cheng Campus" and "Texas A&M University College Station Campus", is a large public comprehensive national university. Founded in 1876, it is the first public university in Texas, the sixth largest public university in the United States and one of the top 100 universities in the world.

Together with the University of Texas at Austin, this university is called the two flagship universities in Texas. TAMU is a member of association of american universities, Southeast Conference and International University Climate Alliance. Texas A&M University, located in the western American town of Carlos, offers three degrees: undergraduate, master and doctor. When the school was founded, it was named Texas College of Agriculture and Machinery, which was the first higher education institution in Texas.

At the beginning of the school, it was an all-male military academy, and 1963 was transformed into Texas A&M University. At present, among the nearly 50,000 students in the school, about half are male and half are female, and its traditional reserve officer corps accounts for about one tenth of the total number of students. As a traditional strong school of science and engineering, TAMU enjoys a high reputation in the field of engineering, and the 2023U.S. NEWS National Institute of Engineering ranks TOP 10. At the same time, TAMU is also one of the six advanced military academies in the United States, funded by NASA and the US Department of Defense.

In addition, TAMU is famous for its top scientific cloning technology. The first cloned cat and dog in human history is the research result of this school. With the support of NASA, the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation and the United States Naval Research Department, Texas A&M University has become a scientific research institution aiming at making great achievements in the fields of land, sea and air. With abundant funds and achievements in animal cloning, petroleum engineering and many other projects, the school was rated as one of the top 20 public scientific research institutions in the United States.

Up to now, there are 9 Nobel Prize winners, 3 National Science Medal winners and/kloc-0 Pulitzer Prize winners in our school. Full-time professors include 34 academicians of the National Academy of Engineering, 5 academicians of the National Academy of Sciences, 3 academicians of the College of Arts and Sciences and 5 academicians of the Academy of Medical Sciences.

Derek Barton, a master of organic chemistry, worked here for twelve years and became the main founder of free radical chemistry. Jack kilby, the father of integrated circuits, is distinguished professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering, and the famous JK trigger is named after him. Benjani Strauss-Trapp, the father of C++ language, is the chief professor of the computer department of the school.
