What does Yulin ditty reflect?

Yulin ditty is a kind of Qingqu sitting singing popular in Yulin city, northern Shaanxi, also known as string violinist. Because the singing form is limited to Yulin, it is called "Yulin Xiaoqu". The lyrics structure of Yulin ditty is similar to that of folk songs. Its music is divided into two parts: singing and instrumental music.

The form of ditty singing is simple, brisk and flexible, without makeup, performance, stage and props, but it must be accompanied. Accompaniment instruments mainly include dulcimer, pipa, Qin Zheng, Sanxian, Jinghu and so on, and Panqu is its only percussion instrument. The content of ditty mainly reflects the interest of citizens' life, and most of them describe the feelings of parting and the love between men and women.
