On the Application of Games in Children's Teaching
First, the importance of games in early childhood teaching
Games are children's favorite activities and one of the main means to implement early childhood education in kindergartens. Its importance is self-evident, which can not only stimulate children's interest in learning, enhance their self-confidence, but also benefit their intellectual development.
(A) the game is conducive to stimulate children's interest in learning.
Children have poor self-control and short concentration time. If teachers only preach orally or organize children's learning step by step in teaching, not only can they not stimulate children's interest in learning, but they will be resistant to teachers and unwilling to learn. But games are more interesting and can often stimulate children's interest in learning. Teachers should introduce games into children's teaching, design some activities into games, stimulate children's interest in learning, and make them master knowledge and skills unconsciously in games.
(2) Games help to enhance children's self-confidence.
Everyone has a desire to express and want to be affirmed by others, especially children, who are often happy or worried about a teacher's words. Games provide such opportunities for young children and satisfy their desire to express. When children complete some topics and tasks involved in game activities, they can not only get affirmation, praise and admiration from teachers and peers, but also feel their own value and gain the joy of success, thus building up their confidence in themselves.
(3) Games are conducive to the development of children's language and intelligence.
Early childhood is a critical period for children's language and intelligence development. By participating in game activities, they can develop their language and intelligence. On the one hand, children need to exchange ideas and discuss various ways in language during the game activities, which promotes the development of children's language; On the other hand, children need to master knowledge and skills and develop their thinking through concrete perception, hands-on operation and imagination, which promotes the development of children's intelligence. For example, in the game of piling wood, the teacher can let the children freely imagine and communicate with each other according to the architectural image they have in mind, put it on themselves while thinking, and finally pile up a reasonably structured building. This game is conducive to the development of children's language and intelligence.
Second, the problems that should be paid attention to when games are applied to children's teaching
The importance of games has been fully explained before, so it is necessary for teachers to apply them to children's teaching. However, the application of games in children's teaching is not optimistic at present, and there are many problems: some teachers are afraid of trouble and deprive children of the right to play games. Even if games are organized, most of them are group games, intellectual games or even teachers' arrangements. Such game activities will only obliterate children's nature and imprison their creativity, which is not conducive to their healthy physical and mental development. Then, how can we correctly play the role of games in children's teaching and make them really serve children's teaching? I think we should pay attention to the following aspects.
(A) teaching objectives should be infiltrated into the game
Games serve teaching, and all teaching activities have goals and objectives. Therefore, the development of game activities cannot be aimless. Without goals and objectives, it is impossible for children to learn knowledge, master skills and develop their thinking. In the teaching of children, teachers must design game activities according to the teaching content and objectives, and infiltrate the objectives into the specific links of the game, so that the game has a certain purpose, so that children can better master knowledge and skills in the game and realize the all-round development of body, intelligence, morality, beauty and labor. For example, in order to cultivate children's civilized and polite habits, teachers can organize children to play the game of "visiting sick kittens" in teaching, so that children can play a role, master polite expressions in game activities and develop good civilized and polite habits.
(B) to create a good game environment
Generally speaking, the game environment includes external environment and psychological environment, and the smooth development of the game needs the interaction of external environment and psychological environment. However, many teachers have neglected this point, only paying attention to the creation of external environment, while ignoring the creation of psychological environment. In this regard, we should not only create a good external environment for children, that is, broaden the game space and enrich the game materials, but also meet their psychological needs, and create a colorful, dynamic and interesting environment from children's interest points, so that they can face various problems with positive emotions and solve them smoothly.
(C) to carry out a variety of game activities
Children's interest is short-lived. If they are always allowed to play a game, it will be boring even if it is fun. However, many teachers are used to using a game or a game for a long time, which obviously does not meet the physical and mental characteristics of young children and is not conducive to their study. In the teaching of children, teachers should constantly enrich the forms of games, improve and increase the forms of games according to the observation and comments on the game process and the needs of children, so as to make them diversified. This game is rich in content and diverse in forms, which can stimulate children's interest in learning and make them grow up happily in the game.
(4) Pay attention to the security of the game.
The main activity of kindergarten is games, the essence of which is freedom. "Freedom" is the unique character of game activities, but it also causes many security risks in game activities. As kindergarten teachers, we can't ignore these hidden dangers, we should reduce and eliminate them as much as possible to ensure the safety of children's participation in game activities. Specific practices: First, before the game starts, check the game venue and the items that need to be used, and replace some items that may cause danger in the game with safe items to prevent problems before they happen, so as to ensure that children will not be hurt during the game; Second, explain the rules of the game to the children before the game starts, remind them to pay attention to safety, and immediately stop unsafe practices and explain the dangers of doing so.
In short, games play a special role in children's learning and growth. Teachers should give full play to the characteristics of games and reasonably design game activities according to teaching needs, so that children can learn easily and grow up happily in colorful game activities.
