What are the specialties of Lithuania?

Ten million years ago, there were large forests in northern Europe. The climate was warm, there were no humans yet, and resin trickled down from the ancestral plants of today's pine and fir. Rapid burial, compression and geothermal changes allowed the resin to become fossilized to the present day.

Many large areas of northern Europe are underwater, which is why most of the world's amber is found along the Baltic Sea. In addition to the famous Gdansk, there is now an amber museum in Palanga, Lithuania.
