What is conventional energy?

Conventional energy: energy that has been produced on a large scale and widely used under the existing economic and technological conditions, such as coal, oil, natural gas, hydropower and nuclear fission energy. Compared with new energy sources, conventional energy sources refer to energy sources that are systematically developed and utilized in new technologies, such as solar energy, ocean energy, geothermal energy and biomass energy. Most new energy sources are natural and renewable, which will be the basis of the future sustainable energy system in the world.
