Custom civilization

First, religion. When visiting the temple, dress neatly and generously. Men's shirts should have sleeves, trousers should be worn, and women's trousers skirts should be knee-high. No topless breasts, no vest suspenders or ripped jeans. Take off your shoes when you enter the Buddhist temple. Don't touch or climb the Buddha statue to take pictures. Women should not be too close to monks, and should not have physical contact with monks, such as handing things, wrapping them in cloth or entrusting men to send them. If you take pictures of monks, you should ask for permission in advance and thank them afterwards.

Second, behavior. Thailand attaches great importance to etiquette, greeting and crossing hands. Don't touch other people's heads, and don't point your feet at people or things when sitting, lying or shopping. Don't talk loudly or spit in public places.

Third, dining: pay attention to table manners, don't talk loudly, don't drink soup loudly or spit food residue directly on the table. Fold the tableware and put it on the plate after eating. The buffet line is orderly, and you can't waste it if you take less for many times.

Fourth, tips. When moving luggage, cleaning rooms or dining in the hotel, if the other party provides good service, the waiter can be tipped from 20 baht to 100 baht as appropriate. If the service charge is included in the bill, you don't have to pay it separately.

Wenming shanglu

1. Thailand's right rudder is on the left. Please obey the traffic regulations and refuse drunk driving and fatigue driving. There are no traffic lights at some intersections. Please slow down and drive carefully.

Second, please bring your own GPS map of Thailand, familiarize yourself with the route in advance if necessary, and don't overtake and follow the car dangerously.

Third, you must buy local traffic safety insurance in Thailand, at least the most basic traffic compulsory insurance. This kind of insurance is available at the port of entry, but only for the injured, not for vehicles. Visitors are advised to appropriately increase the insurance level they have purchased.

Four, driving in Thailand, car rental (including motorcycles), should hold an international driver's license or a local driver's license in Thailand. To apply for a driver's license in Thailand, you must have the legal right of residence in Thailand (permanent residence or short-term residence is acceptable, except for landing visa and tourist visa holders). It does exist in Thailand that border officials allow drivers with China driver's licenses to drive into the country. However, driving in Thailand with a China driver's license is not protected by Thai law. In the event of a liability accident, the driver will bear the corresponding risks and responsibilities. When renting a car, you should find a regular car rental company and ask about the terms of the car rental contract to ensure that the vehicle insurance is effective.

Airport civilization

I. Flight delays

Passengers are understandably anxious because of the flight delay. However, rights protection should be polite and moderate, and rights protection should not be excessive by means of "strike" or "taking the opportunity". Usually, airlines and airports have corresponding accommodation and compensation measures for flight delays. Passengers should know the reasons for the delay on the spot according to the ticket purchase contract and decide whether to change the ticket as soon as possible; Require airlines to issue a "delay certificate" and save evidence of compensation afterwards; Disputes involving air transport contracts may be appealed to the Civil Aviation Department.

Low-cost airlines have strict regulations on flight delays. For example, air tickets can only be refunded but not changed, or they can only be changed to other flights of the company. If they change to another flight, the difference will not be refunded. Passengers should have full psychological expectations. Civilized society, rational rights protection. Unreasonable behavior demands such as taking out equipment, blocking the plane door, not boarding the plane, and demanding cash compensation on the spot are not within the scope of insurance assistance, and the embassy will not support them.

In order to help China tourists communicate with each other, Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang Airport Authority have equipped Chinese translators at the service desk of the terminal building, and set up 24-hour Chinese telephone numbers 1722, 02- 132- 1888, 02-535- 165448 respectively.

Second, the fine for alcohol and tobacco is too high.

According to Thai law, every passenger can buy 1 cigarette (200 cigarettes or 250g tobacco) and 1 bottle of wine for their own use when entering Thailand. The excess shall be taxed by the airport customs according to law. Passengers can choose to pay taxes or give up excessive alcohol and tobacco.

If the parties remove their own cigarettes and alcohol, but also carry their peers' cigarettes and alcohol, or put the cigarettes and alcohol purchased by everyone together, it is also considered excessive, and different amounts of fines will be imposed according to the cigarette brand. If the customs refuses to pay the fine, it will initiate judicial proceedings and hand over the person concerned to the airport police for investigation and trial by the court. The sentence is usually fixed-term imprisonment (no more than 2 years) and a fine. During this period, the parties shall not be released on bail.

If you have excess tobacco and alcohol, please declare it to the customs before you leave the airport isolation area, hand over the excess to the customs for safekeeping, pay a small storage fee and ask for a bill, and get the tobacco and alcohol back with the bill when you leave the country. In the whole airport area, especially when you have left the airport inspection area but not far from the airport, please don't keep duty-free tobacco and alcohol for anyone, or give it to others to avoid heavy punishment or even litigation.

If you buy more than a reasonable number of brand-name bags and jewels for your own use, you should declare them to the customs, otherwise you will be subject to heavy taxes and fines.

If tourists think that the punishment is unfair, they can submit written materials to the airport information desk, and the staff will hand them over to the relevant airport departments for handling. Please be sure to protect your rights calmly according to law, and don't make trouble without reason.

Travel safety with the group

Before joining the tour group, carefully read the itinerary, quotation and contract samples provided by the tour group agency and sign a formal contract. The travel agency's commitment shall be subject to written execution. After the contract is signed, both parties shall strictly perform the contract. Before going abroad, if you are told that the itinerary includes shopping and self-funded items and an additional agreement is signed, you should be mentally prepared, and don't take chances and exploit loopholes. Don't panic when you leave the group in Thailand. Call the tourist police. The team leader of China should actively coordinate and take over the club to resolve disputes. Visitors should remember the name, telephone number and guide card number of the tour group. Once a dispute occurs, in accordance with the principle of "overseas disputes, domestic settlement", after returning to China, safeguard their legitimate rights and interests according to law. At the same time, the embassy called on travel agencies to strictly abide by the new Tourism Law, cherish business reputation and avoid illegal trial.

Wading safety

There are many beach leisure projects in Thailand, and there are also many wading accidents such as snorkeling and swimming. Don't rely on water for bravado, don't go into the water where there are storms or undercurrents, don't go into the water in dangerous areas (such as red flags and other warning signs), don't go into the water after drinking, don't act alone, and be accompanied by a companion. Snorkeling requires simple training and proper use of equipment. Old people, patients with hypertension and heart disease (recessive) should not snorkel. If a companion dies or is injured by drowning, he should immediately ask the nearby lifeguard for help and call the police.

Ship leasing safety

There are many shops on the coast of Thailand that provide motorboat rental and driving services. Before chartering a boat, you must do: 1, and ask about the motorboat insurance, the validity period of the insurance, and the proportion of individual insurance payments. 2. Check whether the motorboat has old injuries and take photos to leave a certificate; 3. Read and sign the charter party; 4. Return the ship face to face with clear handover.

A motorboat costs hundreds of thousands of baht. In case of scraping, please make reasonable compensation according to the contract and insurance clauses. Don't panic if you claim at a high price. First, communicate with the merchants through the tour guide. If negotiation fails, call Thailand Tourism Police at 1 155 (with Chinese service), ask the police to handle it, and quickly close the case through the Tourism Court (in coastal cities such as Pataia). Thailand has a black market for passports. Don't mortgage your passport when renting a boat to prevent it from being stolen.

Safety by boat

Please choose a regular travel shipping company and ask whether to buy insurance and the scope of claims before registration; When going out to sea by boat, you must obey the instructions of the staff, strictly abide by the safety requirements, and wear life jackets to prevent collision and injury. Don't go to sea when the weather is bad.

Travel safety in Pattaya.

First, focus on preventing robbery and wounding cases.

According to the statistics of Pataia police, there are three high-risk areas for robbery: ① the roadside at the entrance of North Pataia 12 Lane, 16 Lane and 18 Lane (where tourists wait for the tourist bus in the morning); ② South Pataia Pedestrian Street; ③ Pattaya Beach (2 pm to 3 am the next day).

Please be vigilant, don't show your money, take good care of your belongings when cycling or swimming, try to use backpacks instead of handbags, don't travel at night for less than two people, and don't stay in remote and dark places. In case of robbery, first ensure personal safety, and then call the police as soon as possible to inform the police of the location, time, appearance, license plate, brand and color of the incident.

Second, the distribution of police forces everywhere.

Pedestrian street: South NUAN is the police's on-site office. From 9 pm to 6 am the next day, the police patrol regularly.

Beach: For easy identification, the beach patrolman wears an orange uniform and patrols on horseback every Saturday. The police box is located in the ninth lane. In case of extortion, robbery and theft, you can call the police at any time.

Oshima (also known as "Golden Sand Island"): There is a police station to handle all kinds of accidents and disputes.

Third, the local alarm mode

(1) Call the police directly to the nearest police station; ② Call the national hotline 19 1 and transfer from the headquarters to the Pataia Police Department; ③ Direct dial the 24-hour hotline of Pataia Police Department at 038-420804, 082-7999 1 1, 086-5 152770 (Thai/English).

Reservation security

More and more tourists from China book houses, apartments and hotels in Thailand online. Before booking, please read the store's limited terms and refund regulations. The other party can accept re-payment, or choose to pay when you check in to avoid unnecessary economic losses.

food safety

Thailand has high temperature all the year round, and its eating habits are different from those of China. Tourists should not be greedy and drink too much. Eat in a regular restaurant to prevent unsanitary diarrhea. Carry a convenient medicine box with you, and prepare common medicines such as Huoxiang Zhengqi water, antipyretics, band-aid and iodine. Patients with chronic diseases should take medicine with them.

driving safety

Thailand's "motorcycles" are fast and passengers are not protected by helmets. In many places, there are no traffic lights, people come and go, and the accident rate of tourists is very high, especially in road trip, where there is no insurance and no legal driver's license, and the losses are serious after the accident. Take care of your carry-on luggage when taking a taxi, and write down the license plate and driver's license number to prevent unlicensed and difficult to trace after an accident. When crossing the road, look to the right first, then to the left, and don't run the red light.
