Does the lion dance in China belong to the Southern Lion or the Northern Lion?

Lion dance is divided into southern lion and northern lion, and China lion dance is northern lion.

The Northern Lion is a traditional lion dance technique popular in the north of the Yangtze River in China. There are significant differences in structure, shape and dancing skills between the northern lion and the southern lion. Both the northern lion and the southern lion are colorful and full of traditional folk culture of dancing. Famous northern lions include the green lion in Anhui and the double lion in Baoding, Hebei.

Lions in the north are usually paired, usually a male and a female, and their owners dress up as warriors to lead them forward. As long as the lion dance in the north is fun, acrobatics is the mainstream. Sometimes there will be a little lion, two adult lions with the little lion doing some warm movements, and three lions are full of warmth.

Beishi's music is dominated by Beijing cymbals, Beijing gongs and Beijing drums, giving people a lively and cheerful feeling. The northern lion's movements are mainly flexible, and the lion's movements are mainly flapping, falling, turning, rolling, jumping and grabbing, which looks lifelike.

There are different opinions about the origin of lion dance:

1, the origin of the Han dynasty said: the western regions presented a golden lion to the Han dynasty, and the messenger threatened to continue to pay tribute to the Han dynasty if someone could tame the lion, otherwise diplomatic relations would be severed. Later, when the lion went crazy, the animal trainer pretended to be a lion and lied to everyone.

2. Origin of Northern Wei Dynasty: Xiongnu failed to assassinate Di Wei with lion dance, but Di Wei liked lion dance and kept it.

3. The origin of Foshan said: Nian animals burned and looted, and the people were powerless to resist. Suddenly, a group of people dressed as lions beat gongs and drums to scare the Nian beast away. Although we don't know where the lion dance originated, it is an excellent traditional culture in China.
