Later, in order to occupy land, the landlord designed and sent long-term workers to buy back 100 sheep and 200 lanterns. In the dead of night, they hung lanterns on loudspeakers and rushed down from the opposite mountain, forcing migrant workers to shout, "Long hair is coming!" Long hair is coming! " People abandon their homes and run for their lives without knowing the truth. Among them, Lei and Lan fled for two days and two nights and came to a place called Luotang Yanfu, hungry and thirsty. It happened that a huge mountain rat ran out of the rock house, so everyone caught the mouse and cooked it to satisfy their hunger. Since then, the custom of celebrating the Year of the Rat has spread.

The custom of eating black rice is to commemorate Yang's ancestor Yang. It is said that Yang was arrested and detained in Yongzhou Prison. Every time his family came to the prison to deliver food, he was shared by the jailer. The Yang family cooked rice with a cane juice, but the jailer dared not eat it. Later, the Yang family put a note in the black rice, greeted the inside and outside on June 16, and rescued Yang, so they had the custom of eating black rice.

In addition, there are a series of folk customs, such as cooking tea, celebrating Wang Pan Festival, making rice cakes, arranging food, eating bamboo shoots and leaves, etc. These customs are full of national and local characteristics, showing the inheritance and innovation of Yaoxiang people to the crystallization of traditional culture.
