When I went to Yunnan in September, whether it was Lijiang or Dali, there were many small stores selling ethnic clothes in the ancient cities.

I am not interested in the kind of flowery ethnic style, such clothes, in the ancient streets and towns of Jiangnan can also be found everywhere.

What really caught my eye was the local tie-dye.

Jiangnan area also has the ancient method of printing and dyeing, at first glance, the visual effect is quite similar. Originally thought that the traditional dyeing process is similar everywhere, came to Yunnan to realize that the beauty of tie-dye is still y impressed me.

On the island of Haiyue near the ancient town of Xizhou in Dali, there is a display store called "Blue Continuous Tie-Dye".

The store's furnishings are very chic, combining the primitive and rustic flavor of Haiyue Island with the stunning softness of tie-dye, and the whole store is as beautiful as an art gallery.

Blue Continuum is the name of the brand, and the founder, Xiaobai, is a Zhoucheng girl.

Zhoucheng is known as the "township of Bai tie-dye", located 23 kilometers north of Dali Ancient City, and is the largest natural village in Yunnan, where almost all the villagers are Bai.

It is said that almost everyone in Zhoucheng knows the craft of tie-dyeing.

"The lines that the village elders make with their needles are as even and isometric as if they were drawn, and people here are born with a level of appreciation for tie-dye." Xiao Bai said so in the interview.

As early as 2006, the Bai tie-dye technique in Dali region has been included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.

Blue Continued Tie-Dye strictly follows the ancient craftsmanship of 13 procedures, using pure plant dyeing materials, and has stores or display spaces in Hai Tongue, Xizhou, Kunming Wangfujing, and Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts.

In addition, Blue Continues also founded a community school in Zhoucheng, free of charge for local children to learn to experience tie-dye and traditional culture, making local snacks, recognizing the Yunnan folk characteristics of the "Karma painting" and so on.

The little white girl and her "blue continue tie-dye", has been for the hometown of the inheritance of non-heritage culture unremitting efforts.
