black forest

The Black Forest, also known as Teutonic Forest, is located in the Bavarian mountains in southwest Germany. It is named because it is densely forested in the mountainous area with a length of 160km from north to south and a length of 60 km from east to west. Because of the dense forest trees, it is dark from a distance. It is the most attractive place among the medium-sized mountains in Germany. There are towering fir trees everywhere, and the total area of forest mountains is about 6000 square kilometers. The Black Forest is the birthplace of the Danube and neckar. The steep and picturesque Jinqige Canyon divides the mountainside into north and south sections, with sandstone in the north, dense forests, high terrain and cold climate. The south is low-lying, with fertile soil and mild climate in the valley.

The deep mountains and lakes, valley dams, original landscapes and elevated bridges along the Kinzig Gorge will deeply attract people's interest. People roaming in the black forest can also see many less and less common industries, such as glass blowing, organ making, ironing and tanning. And the watch industry in Black Forest can still be called the real traditional handicraft art today. Once upon a time, every cold night, farmers in mountainous areas stayed at home and carefully carved wooden figures and utensils. Among them, the Chinese fir cuckoo clock is the most famous. This kind of clock is more distinctive because it is hand-painted. In the past, this cottage industry in the black forest area has developed into large and small factories, and its products have entered the international market. Today, people can see cuckoo clocks in black forests all over the world.
