Selection of cotton base

Cotton is a traditional dominant industry in Jiangxi agriculture. Jiangxi is an advantageous area for the development of cotton industry in China. According to statistics, in 2007, the cotton planting area in Jiangxi Province was 654.38+0.32 million mu, and the total output was 654.38+0.654.38+0.9 million t. Cotton is a temperate short-day crop, which requires strict climate and soil. Cotton producers have high commodity rate, strong technology, close relationship with textile industry and strict requirements on product quality. Jiangxi has many advantages in developing cotton production. Poyang Lake area has good ecological conditions, fertile soil, abundant rainfall, rich water resources, rich light and heat resources and long frost-free period, which is very suitable for planting cotton. The natural conditions in Poyang Lake area can meet the requirements of cotton growth and development. Pengze county, Jiujiang, De 'an, duchang county, Hukou and Gao 'an in the Lake District are the commodity cotton base counties (cities) in Jiangxi Province in 2004. These counties (cities) have good cotton planting foundation, high scientific cotton planting level, high yield and good benefits. It is necessary to consolidate these existing foundations and develop new ones appropriately. Compared with other counties (cities, districts) in Poyang Lake District, Yongxiu County and Xing Zi County have the potential to become cotton bases, which can appropriately increase cotton production. In addition, the Beijing-Kowloon Railway runs through the north and south, and the connecting highways between provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) and neighboring provinces have achieved high speed, making air and water transportation very convenient.

It can speed up the construction of cotton production bases in Poyang County, Xinjian County and Jinxian County. This area is rich in light and heat resources and fertile soil, which can appropriately increase cotton production and establish cotton production base.
