What is traditional Chinese culture like?
Traditional Chinese culture is centered on Confucianism, which advocates virtues such as benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom and faith, and emphasizes human relationships. The traditional Chinese society is based on the family as the basic unit, therefore, harmonious human relationships help to maintain the harmony of the family, and the harmony of the family leads to the harmony of the whole country. These morals are still relevant in today's society, but they should not be taken in their entirety. Mencius said: "Life is what I desire; righteousness is what I desire; I cannot have both; I will give up my life for righteousness". Giving up one's life for righteousness is the highest state of morality. In today's society, although we can't give up our lives for righteousness, we can't see death to save it either. Therefore, the traditional Chinese culture should be adjusted appropriately in today's society to form a new culture suitable for contemporary China. This scrutiny and introspection of one's own culture is something that contemporary Chinese people should do precisely. If you have questions about my answer, I suggest you look up "Neo-Confucianism", I believe it will help you!
