"three new" means new energy, new materials and a new generation of electronic information industry; "two specialties" are traditional industries with creative characteristics such as textiles, clothing and toys; "One Big" is a big health industry.

Shantou is speeding up the construction of "three new, two special and one big" industrial development pattern, that is, vigorously developing three strategic emerging industries, namely, new energy, new materials and new generation electronic information, empowering the development of traditional industrial chain with the two distinctive advantages of textile, clothing and toy creativity, and striving to cultivate a big health industry.

As the largest underwear production base in China, Shantou has formed a complete industrial chain from twisting, weaving, dyeing and finishing, warp knitting, embroidery, accessories to finished products, and the output of underwear and household clothes accounts for about 45% of the whole country. However, the industrial ecology of family workshops also limits the development of the industry itself.
