Deng Wenqing's Founding Club
The Cultivation and Reading Club is a student club at Peking University that emphasizes both philosophy and practice with the aim of "reciting traditional classics and learning traditional culture", and was founded in October 2002. The main activities include classical recitation, reading seminars, as well as practical activities such as organic agriculture promotion and community education. Deng Wenqing had single-handedly founded the Peking University Cultivation and Reading Club, and was the first president of the club.
