New Year's food in China.
Also known as spring cake, spring plate and pancake, it is a traditional food of China folk festivals, which is popular all over the country. Especially in Jiangnan and other places, in the south of China, they don't eat jiaozi during the New Year, but eat spring rolls and sesame dumplings.
2. jiaozi
Also known as jiaozi or Joule, it means the alternation of old and new, and it is also inherited from God. During the Spring Festival, people will eat jiaozi with their families to show their family happiness. Jiaozi looks like an ingot. Eating jiaozi during the Spring Festival means making money. People will also wrap coins in jiaozi, so people who eat this jiaozi will have good luck in the new year.
3. Tangyuan
In the north, jiaozi is sweet, with red bean paste, taro paste and black sesame seeds. In some areas in the south, jiaozi has meat, also called meatballs.
4. Rice cake
The rice cake is a traditional food of the Chinese nation. A cake is steamed with glutinous rice or rice flour. During the Spring Festival, Yuanxiao is eaten in many areas of China. It symbolizes the high year and places people's high expectations every year.
