Why Yu's prose is called cultural prose

In order to search for the soul of Chinese culture, he left his study after a long period of study of canonical books and resigned in the early 1990s to travel far and wide, examining and interpreting a large number of relics of Chinese culture. Most of the places he discovered and wrote about later became hot spots that people at home and abroad clamored to visit. In the process, he created a new genre of "cultural prose", which opened up a new generation of literary styles. From the late 1990s, in order to conduct a comparative study of Chinese culture, he cooperated with Phoenix Satellite Television, and risked his life to travel 40,000 kilometers through some of the world's most dangerous areas, and personally examined the sites of all the important ancient civilizations of mankind.
