Inheritance significance of Shu brocade weaving technology
Shu brocade is a symbolic skill of Chengdu, and it has won the reputation of "Jincheng" and "Jinguan City" with its rich brocade. Minjiang River is surrounded by Chengdu, and Shu brocade is immersed in the river, so Minjiang River is also called "Jinjiang". Shu brocade is rooted in Shu culture and has distinctive regional characteristics. As early as the Qin and Han Dynasties, Shu Brocade had gone out of Sichuan and entered minority areas, contributing to economic development, social stability and national unity. As a carrier of cultural exchange and trade, it has witnessed the history on the world-famous "Silk Road" between North and South, and has unique cultural value.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Shu brocade was once brilliant, but with the progress of industrialization, the hand loom was gradually replaced by the modern loom, showing a trend of atrophy and decline. It is urgent to take practical measures to ensure the inheritance of Shu brocade, and I hope relevant parties will pay attention to it.
