Symptoms of benign breast tumors

Breast fibroadenoma is more common in young women. Patients often inadvertently find painless lumps in their breasts, which may occur on one side or both sides. A breast can have one or more lumps, which are painless or only slightly painful and dull. The degree and size of pain have nothing to do with menstrual cycle. Common fibroadenomas generally grow slowly, and most of them will stop growing when they grow to a certain size, and the diameter is generally less than 3cm. Most tumors are round or oval, with nodular texture, smooth surface, clear boundaries, good mobility and a sense of sliding on palpation. There are still a few tumors with unclear boundaries with surrounding tissues and limited activities. The gross specimen after resection is often accompanied by capsule. Breast fibroadenoma generally does not adhere to skin and deep tissue. During pregnancy and lactation, with the changes of hormone levels in the body, tumors can proliferate and form acinus, which leads to the rapid growth of tumors and even the production of milk. After menopause, breast fibroadenoma will degenerate and atrophy like surrounding glands.

1, breast fibroma

Tumors in the breast, mostly painless tumors, are often found unintentionally. It is small at first, but it grows quickly. When it reaches 3cm, it grows slowly or stops growing. Tumors are round or oval with clear boundaries, mostly convex, not flat, and the surface is not smooth. When touching, it is a small nodule, some of which are obviously divided into leaves, and the hardness is moderate. Most of them have no tenderness and can be pushed freely.

2. Cystic hyperplasia of breast

Mammary duct or acinar epithelium hyperplasia, mammary duct dilatation or cyst formation at hyperplasia epithelium. Young women and elderly women may also suffer from this disease. The time from onset to treatment varies from a few days to more than ten years.

Treatment of benign breast tumor

1, surgical treatment

The common fibroadenoma diagnosed clearly cannot be treated surgically, but it needs close observation and regular review. Improving the diagnostic accuracy of breast fibroadenoma is the key to reduce the surgical rate.

Surgery is the most effective treatment for breast fibroadenoma, whether it is common fibroadenoma or juvenile fibroadenoma, giant fibroadenoma and other special fibroadenoma, as long as it is completely removed, it can be cured. Single breast fibroadenoma is easy to be treated surgically, while multiple breast fibroadenoma is difficult to be treated surgically.

For scattered multiple breast fibroadenomas, it is obviously unacceptable if all of them are removed and the breasts are covered with incisions. We can consider choosing larger tumors or suspected masses for resection and observe those typical fibroadenoma masses. During the observation, if the tumor is found to be enlarged or malignant tumor cannot be ruled out, surgery can be performed in time.

After complete resection, some patients still have new tumors in the original surgical site or other parts of the breast or even the contralateral breast, which is not the real recurrence of the primary tumor, but the second primary tumor. The so-called "removal of breast fibroadenoma will lead to other tumors" is groundless.
