1, put the sea lights:
It is a traditional custom for fishermen in China to set off sea lanterns on the 13th day of the first month. According to Zhuanghe folklore, the 13th day of the first month is the birthday of Poseidon. In some areas in the south, there are different opinions about July 15 and March 23rd.
2. Be a "holy bug":
On the 13th day of the first month, there is a custom of making "sacred insects" in rural areas of Jimo. On that day, the women in the village got together to make dough, cut, carve and cook to welcome the Lantern Festival. The lifelike "sacred insects" were cooked under the skillful hands of these hoes and shovels.
3. Tie lanterns:
On the fifteenth day of the first month, lanterns are usually tied from the thirteenth day of the first month. The old Beijing New Year's Eve ballad is "Eleven chirps, twelve light sheds, thirteen people turn on the lights, fourteen lights are on ..." In other words, the thirteenth day of the first month is "lighting"; 14 is "light test"; Fifteenth is "positive light"; 17, lights out. Since the 13th day of the first month, people have started to decorate with lanterns.
4. Sacrifice to Guan Yu:
In the countryside of Chang 'an District in Xi 'an, there is a custom to offer sacrifices to Guan Gong on the first 13 day of the first month every year. There is also a kind of tribute called "Jia Cai" which is used to worship Guan Gong. Full soybeans are lined up on the eaves, and colorful beans, melon seeds and peach kernels are embedded with bamboo sticks. Several dishes drive layers of code, and finally form exquisite pavilions. This is the unique folk handicraft "adding vegetables" in Chang 'an District.
5. Sacrifice to the sea:
On the 13th day of the first lunar month, it is said that this day is the birthday of the Sea Dragon King. On this day every year, fishermen will hold various activities to worship the sea, hoping that the weather will be good all year round and the fishery will be bumper. According to traditional customs, sacrifices, such as pig's head, carp and big steamed bread, have long been placed on the altar.
