Children’s cheongsam cutting diagram and production method

Method/Steps

1. Positioning

Take a piece of gold velvet fabric, fold the front in half, and mark your body length and waist width on the back with chalk Dimensions are positioned as horizontal lines.

2. Front piece

Use a ruler to mark on the fabric according to the measured child's length, collar width, shoulder width, and armhole depth, and mark each point with a line. Make the connections and draw the dimensions of the front piece of clothing. And cut it according to the drawn size.

3. Back piece

After folding the fabric in half, mark the various positions of the back piece according to the measured size and connect them with lines before cutting. When cutting the back shoulder, the armhole depth is 1cm greater than the armhole depth of the front shoulder.

4. Sleeves

After folding the fabric in half, mark and connect the various parts of the sleeves according to the shoulder height, sleeve depth, and cuff width, and then cut the sleeves. When cutting sleeves, pay attention to the different arc depths of the armholes on the front and back pieces.

5. Front placket

Cheongsam generally requires front placket. For the convenience of production, I divided the front piece after it was already cut. After dividing, just cut a piece of inner placket fabric.

6. Another way to open the front placket

In order to save fabric, some people like to cut the placket when cutting. This way, it is easier to control. I now also pass on the drawings of this practice to everyone.

7. Collar

The collar is the eye of the clothes. After everything is ready, it’s time to measure and cut the collar. To save trouble, usually after cutting out the front and back pieces, use a soft ruler to measure the size of the neckline before cutting. The collar of the cheongsam should not be too high.

8. Ready-made garments

After all parts have been cut, production begins. I don’t think I need to introduce this process, everyone is familiar with it. I am just uploading pictures of ready-made clothes for everyone to compare.
