Fluorescent lamp circuit

Circuit diagram of common fluorescent lamp The filament, ballast, starter and switch of fluorescent lamp are connected in series in the 220V circuit, as shown in the above figure. When the switch is closed, 220 volts AC voltage is applied between the static contact and the moving contact of the starter, resulting in glow discharge.

Fluorescent lamp is an electric light source that emits light through gas discharge. It is popular because of its high luminous efficiency, long life and light closer to natural light. The lighting circuit of fluorescent lamp is mainly composed of fluorescent tube, ballast and starter.

Fluorescent tubes are glass tubes filled with a certain amount of argon and a small amount of mercury after vacuum pumping. There is a filament at each end of the lamp tube, which can emit a lot of electrons after being electrified. The lamp tube is coated with fluorescent powder (so it is sometimes called fluorescent lamp).
