Method for artificially hatch chicks
To hatch chickens artificially, it is necessary to select high-quality eggs and put them in an incubator to hatch.
1. Selecting breeding eggs
When artificially incubating chicks, it is necessary to select high-quality breeding eggs that weigh about 55g, are oval in shape, have undamaged shells and are even in thickness, and use ultraviolet light to irradiate the breeding eggs. If it is found that the breeding eggs do not contain red dots, it means that fertilization has not been successful, and at this time, it is necessary to pick out the failed breeding eggs.
2. Hatching method
When hatching chicks, you need to choose an incubator with sensitive temperature control, then use potassium permanganate or formalin to clean the incubator to eliminate the germs on it, and then you can put the eggs in the incubator, and put the eggs with their heads up in a single plate.
3. Controlling the temperature
Chickens hatch at a higher temperature. When artificially incubating chicks, the temperature should be controlled at 37.8 degrees in the first 1-19 days, at about 37 degrees on the 19th-21st day, and at 22-26 degrees after the 21st day.
4. Precautions
During the first 1-1 days of artificial incubation, it is necessary to turn the eggs every hour to avoid the adhesion between the chick embryos and the eggshell membrane, and to promote the blood circulation of the embryos. After 11 days, it is necessary to turn the eggs every two hours, and to open the vent of the incubator regularly to discharge dirty gas.
Factors affecting the hatching rate:
Temperature is the first influencing factor, followed by ventilation. The method of artificial incubation is imitated by female birds holding eggs. Mother birds choose dry places to hold eggs, birds are mostly in trees, and the number of hatching at a time is not much, so ventilation does not have to be taken into account too much; Artificial incubation is different. The capacity of modern incubators is more than tens of thousands of eggs, so ventilation is very important. Moreover, many experiments in previous years have proved that waterless incubation does not affect or not affect the incubation rate.
Most of the old incubators have some disadvantages, such as less fans, low rotating speed and unreasonable distribution. Not only do they not ventilate completely, but they also have dead corners, and they can't send the heat from heat sources to all places as quickly and evenly as possible, which makes the temperature difference in the incubator larger. Therefore, the incubator should be reformed or replaced with a new one.
