Differences between Chinese and Western Music

Keyboard musical instrument: This is a kind of musical instrument that is very commonly used in the west, but rarely seen in China. Piano, as one of the most commonly used devices in western classical music, is essential. It should be pointed out that there are large-scale musical instruments in China to replace large-scale keyboard instruments, but it is not a piano, but a large percussion instrument, but relatively speaking, the expressive force is far from perfect.

String instruments:

This exists in both east and west, which is of great significance. There are three kinds of stringed instruments. The first is plucked instrument, which is the main body of China's piano, such as Qin, Pipa, Sanxian and Ziou. These instruments have played a great role in Chinese classical music. In the west, there is only the harp, which is rarely used and has little influence. Most of these instruments have beautiful melodies and make people cry. The lack of politics in the west proves that their classical music is not for sad music. The second bowstring instrument, China is the Huqin represented by the Erhu, and the West is the violin represented by the Violin, which has four strings and a range of four octaves, showing liveliness and enthusiasm; Erhu, on the other hand, looks soft, and the difference is obvious. But I want to say an interesting thing. The bow and chord of violin are separated, while the erhu is strung together. This interesting difference is the expression of different ideas and cultures between China and the West. There is also a stringed instrument, playing stringed instruments (I don't remember), which is both Chinese and western, that is, Yang Qin, without comparison.

Comparatively speaking, western pianos can attract people's attention far more than China's lively enthusiasm, while China's music is much softer and more beautiful, but its expressive force is not equal. This difference between China and the West shows the similarities and differences between Chinese and Western music and even Chinese and Western civilizations. When Chinese travel far, their family and friends seem to like where you are going, while westerners are much more indifferent and optimistic about it. Therefore, there are many concerns about friends in China's poems, which has become the main melodious style in music. In the west, however, most of them are eager for similar events, and it is inevitable that they will be excited about music. Tracing back to the source, China, from a hundred schools of thought contended until later, constantly impacted people's hearts with the trend of retro-ism, and gradually formed a gray pessimism, which was manifested in two aspects: seclusion and returning home. It is also retro, while in the west, it is selling dog meat, but it is developing a new trend of thought in the name of the Renaissance, which is in the same strain as the ancient Greek period.

In Comparison of Chinese and Western Civilizations, Russell Roland said, "Some classical music in China is very beautiful, but their classical music is played in such a weak voice that only one person can appreciate it. China people pursue the elegance of art and the rationality of life. They don't appreciate ruthless and powerful people, and they don't appreciate people who are easy to show passion. People who are used to the noisy life in the west will first find that they have lost all the influence that westerners have been striving for when they come to China. However, children will gradually see the beauty of life and the dignity of self-existence. " However, what Russell said is the traditional China people, which is far from what he said today.
