Yunnan Maidu Song Lyrics

Yunnan Maidu Mountain Song (locally known as "tune"). The lyrics are simple and natural, rich in imagination. The whole song has five phrases. With a relaxed and free rhythm and a melody that echoes and undulates, fresh and beautiful with the local characteristics of Yunnan, the song depicts a far-reaching mood full of poetry and picturesque: under the silvery moonlight, the surrounding area is quiet, and only the river under the mountain emits the sound of gurgling water from time to time. The intelligent and beautiful A-mei, seeing the scene, looks at the moon and expresses her feelings, pouring her deep love for her brother into the beautiful melody. Soft singing, deep feelings, along with the running water of the river, floating to the place where A-Go lives. The singing of singer Huang Hong makes this folk song even more charming. Composer Niu Trample-ear has adapted it to the piano piece "Flowing Water". Composers Meng Guibin and Shi Le Meng also adapted it for mixed chorus.

Lyrics:

The moon comes out bright, remembering my brother in the mountains.

My brother is like the moon in the sky, and the river below the mountain is clear.

The moon is halfway up the hill, and when I look at it, I think of my brother.

The wind is blowing uphill, and you can hear my sister calling for me.
