She was carefully taken care of when Cixi fled, why Cixi finally married her to a eunuch?

This courtesan was Rong'er, the personal courtesan of the Empress Dowager Cixi in her later years, a former Manchu Banner with the Chinese surname He. Born in 1880 (Guangxu was 6 years old), she grew up in an ordinary family. The family used to live in the Jingji area of the western city of Beijing. Her father developed a habit of doing nothing, enjoying eating and drinking and not going to work. Her brother was more than ten years older than her. Besides her brother, there were two other brothers. Rong'er entered Cixi's palace eight years later,very much liked by Cixi. It is said that Li Lianying was also courteous when he met her at that time. But she was unfortunate because Cixi finally married her to a eunuch named Liu Xiang, which was ironic.

While she occasionally complained about Cixi in her conversations with Mr. and Mrs. Jin Yi, saying that Cixi had wronged her by marrying her to such a man, she never dared to go against Cixi's wishes. Eunuch Liu Xiang, who had a bad habit of smoking opium, died around 1910. Rong'er was only thirty years old at that time. After the Xinhai Revolution, she was allowed to remarry. But she did not remarry, and even as she was dying, she was considering being buried with Liu Xiang after her death.

In her own words, ? I must be worthy of them.? She wanted to come here for? They? One was her nominal husband, Liu Xiang, and the other was Cixi. Moreover, during her conversations with Mr. and Mrs. Jin Yi, she spoke respectfully of Cixi, and her face even glowed when she talked about how to serve her. She once recalled: ? Sometimes the old lady lazily, take the finger, carefully look at the fingerprints, how many circles of her hand, how many brooms, how many broom shapes, how good is a circle of fighting? As the saying goes,nine buckets and a dustpan, not to ask for someone to pass? That feels like an old grandmother.

It can be said that she worshiped Cixi all her life, in fact, this kind of Cixi? worship? is not limited to the palace eunuchs, and Cixi contact with some of the lower and middle-level officials in the North China Sea also talk about Cixi with great respect. So Rong'er was still grateful to Cixi even if she was given to a eunuch. As a woman, such a life, I'm afraid that only faith can persist.
