How Guo Degang became famous
In 2003, Yuan Hong recommended that Guo Degang participate in the Beijing Comedy Sketch Invitational, and Guo entered the competition with "Hello, Beijing," which was the first time that Guo Degang had gotten so close to television.
In October 2004, Guo Degang's "Endangered Lost Comedy Special" was picked up by Beijing Literature and Art Radio's "Happy Teahouse" program, and began a special syndicated broadcast on the radio.
In late September 2005 Yuan Hong brought screenwriter Shi Hang, theater critic Crystal and more than 10 media reporters to the Tianqiao Le Theater, where Guo Degang received media attention.
November 5, 2005, Guo Degang took all the people of De Yun She to Tianjin to hold a special comedy show, Yuan Hong and Shi Hang brought more than 10 media in Beijing to Tianjin, thus opening the prelude to a high density of media interviews in January this year.
In mid-December 2005, Sanlian Life Weekly published an article titled "Interview with Guo Degang, the grassroots hero of the comedy world", which can be considered the first large-scale report on the phenomenon of Guo Degang.
On January 15, 2006, Phoenix Satellite Television interviewed Guo Degang for its "Cultural Grand View Garden" program, and on January 29, the Spring Festival special program launched "Guo Degang's Comedy Special," a series of four shows.
On January 23, 2006, Guo Degang talked about his experience in the field of art at the recording site of CCTV's "Artistic Life", and later laughed about comedy in "Xiao Cui Speaks Out".
On January 28, 2006 Guo Degang appeared at the Spring Festival Gala held by BTV-1 in Beijing, where he co-starred with Yu Qian in the segment "Hello, Beijing".
On February 12, 2006 Guo Degang appeared at Hunan TV's Lantern Festival Gala.
