The welding of copper and iron can usually be carried out by the following welding methods.

First, flame brazing

1) conventional brass solder welding, the welding wire can be welded with hard solder such as Viodin 20 1 welding wire and 20 1-F solder paste.

2) High-temperature silver welding: the welding wire can be Viodine 203 welding wire with more reasonable fluidity, and it is also welded with 20 1-F solder paste.

3) In terms of high strength, the brazing filler metal with the working melting point of 850-900 degrees, such as WEWELDING46, has the highest welding strength.

Second, argon arc welding

Brass argon arc welding wire is suitable for dissimilar metal welding of copper and iron, and high purity argon shielded welding.

Precautions:

1, before welding, the oxide, oil and other dirt on the welding edge of the workpiece and the surface of the welding wire must be removed, otherwise it will cause defects such as porosity and slag inclusion, which will reduce the weld performance.

2. When welding brass or bronze with argon arc welding, due to the low melting point of the parent material itself, it is necessary to ensure that the welding pool can be formed normally when welding extremely thin pipes or plates.

3. When the thickness of butt joint is less than 3mm, the groove shall not be opened; When the thickness of the plate is 3~ 10mm, a 60 ~ 70 V groove is opened; When the thickness of the plate is greater than 10mm, an X-shaped groove of 60 ~ 70 should be made. In order to avoid incomplete penetration, generally do not leave a blunt edge.

4. The workpiece must be preheated before welding. When the plate thickness is less than 3mm, the preheating temperature is150 ~ 300℃; When the plate thickness is greater than 3mm, the preheating temperature is 350~500℃.

5. TIG welding adopts DC positive polarity welding.
