What are the similarities between the etiology of Chinese medicine and modern medicine?
The etiology of modern medicine is basically the same as that of traditional Chinese medicine. First, there are two major aspects, external and internal, and the etiology of infectious diseases and traumatic diseases are categorized as external. Most other diseases can be categorized among internal causes. However, whether a disease develops or not (especially infectious diseases) is determined by the strength of the body's resistance (immunity), that is to say, both Chinese and Western medicine believe that the body's resistance determines whether or not the disease develops. This is the second point of convergence between the etiology of Chinese medicine and that of modern medicine.
