Why plan urban rail transit?

The planning of urban rail transit is the pressure of road traffic.

Implementing the "bus priority" policy and developing three-dimensional rapid rail transit are the main ways to solve the deteriorating urban traffic. Traffic problems brought by urbanization: traffic congestion. Traffic accident. Energy problem. Environmental protection issues. Land consumption. Urban aesthetics. Advantages of rail transit: large capacity. Soon. (Absolute) low energy consumption. Little pollution. Strong reliability (safety and punctuality). So comfortable. (Relatively) small floor space.

Details are as follows:

1. First of all, rail transit should not only serve the current urban development, but also focus on the future development. Rail transit planning can predict the development direction of the city before urban expansion and guide the construction of the city;

2. Secondly, the choice of rail transit corridor should be in the area with the greatest passenger demand and the widest service range, which requires relevant research and analysis, rather than drawing a line at will;

Thirdly, rail transit construction is a huge investment project, and it is impossible to complete all parts at once. Scientific and reasonable planning should be made to guide the construction, giving consideration to serving passengers and guiding development, rather than blindly investing in construction.
